Figuring Out Buyer Behavior
Summaries from the Interviews : All of the people I interviewed said the same thing mattered most to them if picking an alternative: the quality. Because the whole issue with paper straws in the first place is if they work sufficiently and don't fall over halfway through the drink, all of them cared most about just having a functional straw be an option for them again. The first person I interviewed also added that the degree to which the straw is helpful for the environment does not really matter to them, even though that is entirely the point of the straw ban in the first place. They simply just want a straw they can use for the whole duration of their drink that they don't have to go out of their way for. My other interviewees also added that they would not want to pay much extra for a straw alternative; it should be supplied to them for free like a normal straw. From this, I realize that price is something that supplier like restaurants, cafes, etc. would care about mo...
Hey Linnea,
ReplyDeleteI think the idea of a seaweed straw would benefit both the fear of plastics and the hatred towards paper straws. Bamboo or something along those lines could also be an option. In addition, I like how you start out your pitch with some facts and important numbers!
Hello Linnea,
ReplyDeleteThis was a really really good elevator pitch!! Your timing was great, your flow while speaking was great, you seemed to know your topic inside and out and seemed to have fun while discussing it as well. Now your idea, the seaweed straw also seems like a great idea. I myself have been victim of the plastic straws being an issue and also want to lookout for the environment. Your idea and pitch were amazing!
Hi Linnea, great job on your elevator pitch! You had a really clear focus and I really liked the factual element you incorporated. I think this is definitely a big need to hit on, I was faced with this this past weekend and had a terrible time finishing the rest of my drink. Overall, great pitch, great ideas, and very eloquently said.
ReplyDeleteLinnea,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your pitch. You didn’t talk too fast, or too slow. You gave enough information without throwing a lot of words at us. You told us your own personal problems, and I can say it made it so much easier to relate to your product. As a consumer I only thought about me hating paper straws, but the fact that you offered an alternative really got me thinking, and it really intrigued me to hear what more you had to say. If I had to give you one piece of constructive criticism would be to memorize your pitch or at least put your words closer to your camera so we won’t notice the shift in tour eyes as much. Thank you for sharing.
