Pitch 3

2) In my past pitch, people liked how I incorporated statistics so I made sure to keep that part of my pitch in. I am still working on memorizing my pitch, which was another piece of feedback I received, but I recently made some tweaks to it so I am still working on full memorization. Ultimately I really like and appreciate the feedback I receive!
As I mentioned above, I changed a few aspects of my pitch. I strengthened the story I tell at the beginning to try and make it even more relatable. I also try to talk as if I am speaking with a friend, but this may come off as unprofessional so I may refrain from this to an extent.
I also changed the outfit I wear in my pitch! In my last two pitches, I did not wear a professional top and wished that I had. I simply forgot before. This time I made sure to put on a business-casual shirt and I felt more equipped doing this pitch,

    I really enjoyed your video, the way you start the video off by giving that personal experience really drives home your point of the need for your product. I believe I was one of the people who mentioned how I liked the use of statistics in your last pitch and you did a great job in keeping that in. If people hear those big numbers they automatically assume you know what you are talking about and pay more attention. Great job wearing something a little more business casual in this video!!     I can say with full honesty that I did not believe in your product until after I watched your elevator pitch. You were incredibly thorough with your research, and you did an effective job of providing a good and relatable back story. I love the way you laid out your idea. Because I previously didn't believe in the feasibility of the "Sea Straw", I think you really did a great job of persuading the audience that this is an absolute necessity.

    I think you did really well by incorporating your feedback while also adding your own personal touch. Your improvement shows and I think choosing to wear a business casual shirt helped you look more professional. Great job developing your pitch, it was great to be there along the way.

    Hey Linnea,
    As someone who also struggles with the current paper straw life today, I fully get your experience you shared. I think that the creation of the sea straw is exactly what this world needs, an environmentally friendly but also durable straw. I find it surprising that paper was the "best" alternative to the plastic straw.

    I can tell you really took time out to really think about making a wonderful pitch, and took our feedback and made your pitch even better. The story you have at the beginning of the story makes the need for the product relatable. I know I personally don’t like paper straws, but I also don't have an idea to change this. But, to know that someone else has this problem, and is actively trying to make a difference really draws me in. On another note, I appreciate the thought behind getting “dressed” up for your pitch. I appreciate your attention to detail, and I liked the improvements in your pitch. Thank you for sharing.

Opportunity Belief

My Belief: There is an opportunity in creating an environmentally friendly straw that is completely decomposable and good for the planet, but isn't made out of paper. Description: There is an unmet need for a straw that is good for the environment and won't end up as litter, but one that isn't made out of paper. Paper straws, although great for the environment, disintegrate quickly and can become unusable very fast. Anyone who uses straws has this need, especially in cities like Gainesville where plastic straws have been banned completely. FINAL REFLECTION!

From the beginning to the end of the semester, my posts definitely improved. It took me a little bit to get into the swing of the class and understand what made a good post, and being able to peer review my classmates and see how they were completing their assignments also helped me a lot.  2) I felt like me and those that I peer reviewed were like a little community of entrepreneurs always supporting each other. Even though it was a required assignment to comment on other posts, it still felt nice to see familiar names giving me kind and helpful feedback by the end of the semester! The most formative experience was probably in my last elevator pitch, because I felt like I was truly representing and talking about a real product that I believed in.
